MPS Color Challenge

I was so excited today to see that My Pink Stamper issued a color challenge today. The challenge was to make something using the colors pink, orange, green, and brown. I had been thinking about making a few birthday cards and immediately thought Cupcakes! I used some generic brown cardstock as the card base. I ran a piece of hot pink cardstock through my cuttlebug using a swirly embossing folder (sorry I have thrown all the packaging away so don't know the appropriate titles of the folders). I wrapped that piece with a brown American Craft ribbon that I won over at another favorite site (Scrapbook Steals)! For the cupcakes I used pp from Doodlebug (also from SS) and some pearlescent paper from Best Occasions. I added a little glitter to the green cupcake. I used the Doodlecharms and Celebrations cricut cartridges to cut out the cupcakes. From Stampin' UP, I used pink passion ink, modern label punch, Happy Birthday stamp from Teeny Tiny Wishes, and Birthday Bliss stamp from Birthday Bliss. Enjoy!

Congratulations Card Take 2

So after I finished making the "30" card for Steve, he realized that he also had an associate celebrating 20 years. I used the same basic design except that I used a rooster stamp from a basic grey set. The pp and ribbon are from the Basic Grey Mellow collection. Buttons are also from Basic Grey. Can you sense a theme?

Friends Forever

Since I had my pink stamper project finished, I decided to work on this weeks Sketchy Thursday LO. I used some pictures from December 2009. Two of my best friends flew in from Wisconsin for my wedding on the 30th. Nicole and I were both wearing t-shirts that my brother, Nathan, had designed. I wanted to highlight the pink on the t-shirts. I used pp from the Basic Grey Eva collection. I also used the alphas from that collection for the title. Then I added a few blossoms from Making Memories. I made it pretty simple and stuck to the sketch, but I am happy with the way it turned out.

My Pink Designer Update

So I thought I had all day on Monday to complete my project for My Pink Stamper since the deadline is the 28th. Well I decided I better check with her to see what time on the 28th. Turns out it is due at midnight tonight! Yesterday I was brainstorming and tossing around some different ideas. I finally came up with something to try. So this morning Steve went for a bike ride and I hit the craft room! I can't post the finished product until the winners are announced. I believe the winners will be announced on July 1st. So stay tuned....

Congratulations Card

Today I was working on a congratulations card for one of Steve's co-workers who has worked for the company for 30 years. He is also an avid bird watcher so I decided to use a bird stamp from my Stampin' UP collection. It is from the Asian Artistry hostess set. The card base and ink are dusty durango from Stampin' UP. Then I used my George and Basic Shapes cricut cartridge to cut out 30 in slotted tags. Then I threaded some Basic Grey ribbon from the mellow collection through the slots and attached it to the card. The patterned paper and the buttons are from the Basic Grey Ambrosia collection. I used a sponge dauber to ink around the edges of the 3, 0, and bird. I used a yellow colored pencil to color in the bird. Enjoy!

Hedgehogs are cute!

I made this card playing around with some super cute hedgehog stamps I got at Michaels. I used some paper scraps that were in my scrap box. The patterned paper is from Stampin' UP. The cardstock was leftover from my rehearsal dinner invitations. The ink is also from Stampin' UP. Pink passion! Then I added a couple brads from Basic Grey's sultry collection. Basic Grey is one of my favorite brands of scrapbooking supplies at the moment! I used a border punch on the bottom of the card and the modern label punch for the sentiment. Both are also from Stampin' UP.

On another note, I did not win the Sketchy Thursday challenge. They announced the winner this morning. They also posted a new sketch for the week. I'll have to try and work on that later. But now, laundry is calling....

I have a blog!

So...I have never had the desire to create my own blog. I am not really a writer and don't know what I would say. However, I have recently gotten on the blog follower band wagon. One of my favorite blogs to follow at the moment is My Pink Stamper. She is currently doing a search for new "pink designers." One of the requirements to enter is that you have a blog. You also have to have a cricut. I have 2 so I think I am covered there! So now I need to quickly figure out what I want to make to enter! I think the deadline is the 28th.

Speaking of deadlines, I entered another contest today. This one over at Sketchy Thursdays. They show a sketch and then you create a layout with your interpretation. Since this was due today, this is what I worked on this afternoon. The prize for this one is a $50 crop credit over at Crop Chocolate!!! Crop chocolate is an awesome scrapbook deal at a time website with low, low prices! I hope I win!
