I made this card for Cricut Cardz challenge #33 which was to make a get well card using the colors green, blue, black, and white. The bird came from Stretch your Imagination. I used the sketch from Sketchmania #3. And then I incorporated A Chocolate Daily's challenge #4 to use at least 5 things starting with the letter B. My B's include: blue bird, 3 brads, 3 buttons, and black beak and feet. I used pp from Making Memories, Just Chillin' girls collection. The buttons are from the Paperie Greenhouse collection. I used ribbon from Basic Grey Mellow and Recess. I added some diamond stickles to the birds eyes. The sentiment is from Stampin' UP's Teeny Tiny Wishes as well as the modern label punch. I love this punch, if you couldn't already tell! Thanks for stopping by!

SPCC #58 and Fantabulous Cricut #20
This card is for 2 challenges. SPCC has a color challenge to use the colors crumb cake, soft suede, and certainly celery. And Fantabulous Cricut's challenge was to use a cricut cut animal. I wanted to make a masculine looking birthday card so I chose the ghecko on Life is a Beach. I only had Stampin' Up's certainly celery cardstock so I had to use browns from my stash. And the pp is from Basic Grey's Mellow collection. I used "peeled paint" distress stickles for the eyes. The Birthday Wishes stamp came from SU's Wow Flowers. I also used the modern label punch to punch out the sentiment. This card took no time at all and I think it turned out really cute! I hope you like it!

A Chocolate Daily #7
What's black and white and red all over? This card for challenge #7 over at A Chocolate Daily! I started with a black base. Then I added pp from Stampin' UP's Sweet Slumber collection. I used the bird stamp from Asian Artistry with black ink and then used my colored pencils to color in the bird. I added some buttons from Basic Grey and some American Crafts ric rac and Voila! Thanks for stopping by!
PPC #23, A Chocolate Daily #5, Sketch Mania #4
I made this card for A Chocolate Daily's challenge to use a sketch (#4) over at Um Wow Studio. I also incorporated PPC's challenge #23 to use the colors, whisper white, basic gray, and daffodil delight. This color combo was difficult for me since I am not a huge yellow fan. I had a hard time finding any gray paper in my stash. I also have no idea where it came from because it is so old. But I am pleased with the results. I used the yellow ribbon from the Sherbet collection and flower stamp from Stampin' UP's vintage vogue. I used SU's So Saffron ink and added some Making Memories jewel brads to the center of the flowers. I hope you like it!

Oh Christmas Tree
I made this card for Tuesday Morning Sketches Birthday week 4. I chose sketch #33. We also had to do a Christmas theme this week. I also used this for Our Creative Corner's color challenge which was to use green, red, white, and black. And also Cardz TV's Christmas in July #4 which was to make a card with a tree on it. I used pp from Basic Grey Wassail and American Crafts ribbon. From the Imaginisce Polar Expressions collection (which was my prize from winning a sketch challenge over at Scrapbook Steals!), I used the tree stamp and rub on. The ink is Handsome Hunter from Stampin' UP. Enjoy!

OTWC #17, Scrappy Sat. Challenge #15, Mojo Monday #149
Today I made a card using the sketch from Mojo Monday #149. There was a round or square option, and I chose square, 5x5. I used Off the Wall Craftiness Challenge #17 which was to use the colors Raspberry Fizz, Hawaiian Shores and Purple. I love these colors together! And finally the requirement for the Scrappy Saturday Challenge #15 was to incorporate stamping into your project.
I used Stampin' UP's pink passion cardstock for the card base and scalloped square. I used the pink passion ink on my hedgehog stamp by Studio G. Isn't she pretty? The pp is from Stampin' UP's Perfect Plum collection. I used perfect plum ink on the sentiment which came from SU's Thank you Kindly. The turquoise ribbon is from American Crafts. Thanks for stopping by!

Scrapbook Steals has launched Mid Week Mojo. Every Wednesday they are going to give us a sketch to create a layout with. I am so excited! Scrapbook Steals has one great product for sale each day. They have the best fan page on facebook! Check them out here. Ok on to my LO. I chose a picture that Steve's sister, Kathy, took of us in London. We were walking through Hyde Park looking at all of the beautiful flowers. Steve was trying to take a picture of a bumble bee when Kathy took this picture. I used some of my favorite Basic Grey Wisteria collection: pp, cardstock stickers, and journal sticker. The die cuts came from Destinations, Life is a Beach, and Tie the Knot. I also used some of the American Crafts ribbon that I won from a previous Scrapbook Steals challenge! Thanks for stopping by!

Tuesday Morning Sketches Birthday Week 3
I made this card for Tuesday Morning Sketches. It is week 3 of their birthday week. I chose sketch #14 for my card. I decided to do something other than birthday and thank you cards this time. I chose a baby theme. I used some scraps that I had laying around from the Basic Grey Euphoria collection. The baby buggy is from Stretch your Imagination. I added 4 heart brads from Making Memories. The hello baby stamp is from Stampin' UP's Teeny Tiny Wishes along with the modern label punch. I really like how this one came out. I love these colors! Hope you like it!

3 Challenges in 1
This is a card I made for 3 challenges. The first one is Off the Wall Craftiness #16. Here is the inspiration photo. We needed to use the colors pale pink, white, and gray.
The second challenge was to make something girly for Made by Momo. Thirdly, I used the sketch from Mojo Monday #148.
Here is what I came up with. From Stampin' UP, I used the pp, stamps from Vintage Vogue and Teeny Tiny Wishes, and Regal Rose ink. I added some White Blossom jewel stickers to the center of the flowers and tied on a gray ribbon from American Crafts.
Again I had sooo much trouble trying to tie a bow. This is probably attempt #1000. If anyone has some helpful hints for tying bows please let me know! Overall I love how this card came out. I love these colors together! I hope you enjoy!

Sketchy Thursday 7/15
Here is my layout for this weeks Sketchy Thursday. The paper is all misc. from my stash. I punched the border with the Martha Stewart snowflake border punch. It actually embosses and cuts at the same time. It is not my favorite border punch but I thought the snowflakes were perfect for this page. I cut out the Happy Holidays sign using the Joys of the Season cricut cartridge. The little "gift tag" came out of my Fa La La box from Making Memories.
On a side note, I was so excited to see that I am up to 20 followers! So thank you all for following me!

40:31 Creations-Under the Sea Challenge
I made this card for the Under the Sea challenge over at 40:31 Creations. I used the card feature on the Life is a Beach cricut cartridge and chose the mermaid. I cut the card at 5 inches and the mermaid at 3 1/4 inches. I used pearlescent paper for her hair and tail. The pp is Euphoria by Basic Grey. I added a pink jewel sticker from White Blossom to the flower in her hair. I used a stamp from Sassafras Quack Quack to do the border around the card. Then I added a blossom and leaf from Creative Impressions in the corner with a BG Euphoria brad. I think this is one of my favorite cards. I hope you like it!

Cricut Cardz Challenge #33
Today I made a card for the Cricut Cardz Challenge. The requirement was to make a card using the card feature on any cartridge. I chose to do the present on Stretch your imagination. I didn't want to do the "normal" looking present since it was a square shape and I don't have any square envelopes. So I cut out the "stretched" present card at 5 inches. I used Basic Grey Eva pp for the frame and the present layer. I feel like the paper made it a little busy looking. But it was a super easy card to make and took no time at all to put together. Thanks for looking!

Cousins Challenge #1 and Peachy Keen Challenge #32
This layout is for Maria's beach layout challenge and Peachy Keen's Summer destination challenge. I chose some pictures from my Hawaiian vacation that I took with my mom back in 2006. We spent a week on the beautiful island of Kauai! I would love to go back and see more of Hawaii. I used a journal sheet and epoxy clip from the Making Memories Paperie Poolside collection. This is the first time I have ever used a clip on a layout. I think it's pretty cute. The pp is from DCWV. I used the following cricut cartridges to make my die cuts: Destinations, Life is a Beach, and Stretch your Imagination. I added an American Crafts Mulberry brad to the center of the bikini top. Enjoy!

Tuesday Morning Sketches Birthday Week 2
It's week 2 of Tuesday Morning Sketches birthday week. I chose sketch #2. I used the Garden Whimsy stamps from Stampin' UP. I wanted to use the big butterfly stamp and found this butterfly paper from the Basic Grey Ambrosia collection that matched perfectly. Then I embossed it with clear embossing powder. I added the little bugs in the corners as an afterthought and embossed them as well. The embossing is kind of hard to see in the picture. The buttons are also from BG Ambrosia. Thanks for stopping by!

Summery Birthday Card
Here is my first cousin challenge. It was to make a summery birthday card. I wanted to make the popsicle from the Cricut cartridge Doodlecharms. It didn't have a card feature so I decided to try cutting out the border at 5 inches. It cut out 3 connected popsicles and I thought I could just cut the 3rd one off and fold it in half to make a card. Well the popsicles don't line up exactly. It's pretty close and you can't really tell in the picture. This card is pretty basic and only took a few minutes to make. I added the Happy Birthday stamp from the Well Scripted set from Stampin' UP. Enjoy!
This also worked for the sweet treat challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut!

Throwback Thursday #7
Today Emma announced her challenge for this weeks Throwback Thursday. We were to use the Wild Card Cricut cartridge and have a holiday theme. This was more difficult than I thought it was going to be. Emma's example was the pumpkin Halloween card and I was not in the mood to think about Christmas. I ended up deciding to make a Happy New Years card. I cut out the base with some pearlescent silver paper. I added the accent pieces with black and brown. I cut out the "cheers" in purple. Then I decided to add some pp from Stampin' UP to the background to make the champagne bottle stand out better. It is hard to see the Cheers in the picture, but it looks better in person, I promise! Oh I also cut out the cute envelope to go with the card. Both were cut at 5 1/2 inches.

I won! And my first cousin challenge!
Yeah! I just found out that I won a prize for my Day 3 layout over at Scrapbook Steals. You can check out the blog post here. So my card that I was working on today for Juliette's first cousin challenge is appropriate here since it turned into a thank you card! I needed to use the Hello Kitty Greetings cricut cartridge and the colors pink, blue, green, and white. I used pp from the Making Memories Whimsey collection. I used the HK font to cut out Thank You. Enjoy!
Sketchy Thursday 7/8
Here is another great sketch from Sketchy Thursdays. I chose to use some pictures from February 2009. My grandma was visiting for the winter, and my mom and Nicole were visiting for my bridal shower. We had lunch at this little cafe called Cupz N Crepes. I used a 12 x 12 piece of cardstock from Stampin' UP's Sweet Slumber collection. It matched perfectly with Making Memories Paperie Rouge collection. From this collection, I used the alphas, brads, and the journal page. I used a Martha Stewart edger punch on the black strip to make the border. The felt flowers are from the Making Memories {Note}worthy Ava collection. And of course I added some American Crafts ribbon! I love how the red and black looks! I hope you like it!

Mojo Monday 147
Today I made a card I for Mojo Monday. This is the sketch that was given.
I loved using this sketch. I came up with my card really quickly. I used Stampin' UP's pink passion cardstock as my base. Then I added some Basic Grey Euphoria pp. The stamps were all from SU (Well Scripted, Holiday Blitz, and Birthday Bliss). I used pink passion and orchid opulence ink to do the stamping and inking around the edges. I added some EK Success ribbon. I hope you like it!

The end of Scrapbook Steals Birthday Week
I have 2 final challenges for Scrapbook Steals from last weeks Birthday Week. The first one was to create a page showing something that you are thankful for. I used some pictures that I had from last summer when I was visiting friends in Phoenix. I used pp from Stampin' UP. I used some Making Memories blossoms and added a Sassafras B is for Bug brad. From the Hello Kitty Greetings cartridge I cut out the word friendship. It was too long to fit on the page so I cut it down to just say Friends. Then I cut out hello kitty with her teddy bear and added some gold stickles to her nose. I also cut out the shadow of the strawberry to write on.
The last challenge was to use at least 12 elements on your page. I used some pictures from last summer when my cousin, Jose and his wife, Rosie, were driving through on their way to Phoenix. We went to dinner at the Hula Hut, one of my favorite restaurants here in Austin! We had this stuffed avocado that was sooooooo good! I used 3 photos, 3 photo mats, 1 journal page, 1 title, 6 buttons, 2 flowers with a brad, 2 ribbons, 3 die cuts....all on a 12 x 12 page! The pp is from Stampin' UP. The alphas, buttons, flowers, and journal page are all from Making Memories Paperie Greenhouse collection. The ribbon is from American Crafts. (I ♥ American Crafts ribbon!!!) The pineapple drink, flip flops, and Hula girl were all cut out with the Life is a Beach cricut cart. Hope you like it!

Cousins Challenge #1
Ok I have been challenged by my cousin, Maria, and her daughter, Juliette, to do weekly challenges. Juliette came up with the first one: Create a card using the Hello Kitty Salutations cartridge. Blue, pink, white and green are the colors that may be used. And Maria came up with: make a 2 page scrapbook layout using a beach theme. Pictures are optional. Any cricut cartridge and colors may be used. My challenge for this week will be to make a birthday card with a summer theme using colors of your choice. Check back next week for the projects!

Blog Candy Giveaway
Ok I already posted this morning, but I HAVE to post again! I stumbled across a blog this morning called Inked Inspirations. She is giving away 5 different sets of blog candy for her birthday! Wow, there is some cool stuff! You have until July 31st to enter. Go HERE for details!
Throwback Thursday and Tuesday Morning Sketches
This is the first time I have combined 2 challenges into 1 project but I was limited on time this week. The first challenge is Emma's Throwback Thursday. The requirements were to use the Zooballoo cricut cartridge or any other older cart using an animal theme. I don't have Zooballoo so I used Animal Kingdom. Then I took the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches. They are having a month long birthday celebration. You can use any of their past sketches. I chose to use sketch #1. I wanted to make a birthday card for someone who likes frogs. It didn't end up exactly as I was picturing it. The frog ended up a little big I think. It is hard to see the Doodlebug patterned paper behind it. Also since I don't have any "punny" stamps yet, I had to use my little alphas to write out "Hoppy Birthday." Since I only had 1 p and 1 y, I had to leave spaces and then go back and add the 2nd ones. I guess I pushed a little harder the second time because they are a little thicker. This was also my first time using the little alphas. I am not sure I like it, but it works in a pinch. I am also a little sad that the ribbon doesn't show much, but you can see it on the inside. Anyway, I guess this is not my favorite card. Let me know what you think! Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

More Scrapbook Steals Challenges
We reached the end of a great birthday week over at Scrapbook Steals. They ended it with a live chat followed by a video chat. Dan from Fancy Pants joined Melodee and Kristy and brought a big box of loot. Everyone who joined in on the chat will be getting a little something! There was another great sketch for the Day 4 challenge. I really had a lot of fun with this one and it did not take me any time at all to decide what pictures to use. My fabulous cousin, Maria, threw me a bridal shower in February 2009. My best friend, Nicole (and her husband Justin) were able to fly out to Arizona for the big event! We took a little day trip out to Tortilla Flat. It as a beautiful day and the scenery was gorgeous. We had lunch at a restaurant there where they had dollar bills all over the walls and ceiling. It was a neat place. Anyway, here is the page. I used Basic Grey Granola pp, stickers, and chip stickers. I cut out the letters with the Life is a Beach cricut cartridge and added a few American Craft brads. Hope you like it.
Friday there were 4 more challenges posted. One being the birthday card that I posted last night. Another one was to use 6 different sheets of patterned paper. I decided that since I had a lot of the BG granola I would make a second page to go with the first Tortilla Flat. I just reversed the top image to make a double page layout. I love how the 2 pages turned out! I used some of the pp to make the frame around the top photo. With the other 3 I cut out a cactus (Destinations cart) and 2 leaves (Life is a Beach). I also cut out the Arizona tag from Destinations and added a couple AC brads. I am loving these sketches!

Our Creative Corner Sketch Challenge
I spent most of today in the craft room working on a variety of challenges. This one is for the Our Creative Corner sketch challenge.
Here is my recipe:
pp from Basic Grey Cupcake
American Craft ribbon
Martha Stewart edger punch
stamps from Stampin' UP Holiday Blitz
Modern Label and Curly Label punches from Stampin' UP
Enjoy!
EDIT: Did you see the ribbon? I have such a hard time trying to tie ribbon on cards. When I tied it, it looked better upside down. So I had to slip it off and put it right side up!

Happy Birthday Scrapbook Steals~Day 3
Ok I have a LO for Day 3 of birthday week over at Scrapbook Steals. This LO took me a long time to figure out what pictures to use. The sketch was using 2 vertical pictures. Well I discovered that we mostly take horizontal pictures. Or when I have a vertical picture, there is only 1 for that particular event. And also the sketch had stars in the corners and it was making me think of the 4th of July. I sifted through so many pictures going back many years to try and find something that would "fit." I finally decided that I would use 4 pictures from last years 4th of July. I had 1 vertical picture and 1 that I trimmed into a vertical picture. I used Doodlebug pp and Me and My Big Ideas stickers. I used George and Basic Shapes to cut out the stars on my cricut. Overall, I am pretty happy with how it turned out.

Mojo Mondays 146 Challenge
Today I made a birthday card for the Mojo Mondays sketch. I used my Card Games and Game Night stamps from Stampin' UP again. Can you tell I really like these stamps? I also used the Jackpot designer series paper that goes with the stamps. I added a little American Crafts ribbon and Voila!

Happy Birthday Scrapbook Steals~Day 2
So it is birthday week over at Scrapbook Steals. They are doing a challenge a day followed by a live online crop this Friday night. They are also asking a question a day. Winners will be drawn during the online crop. Since day 1 was to scrap this years July 4th pictures, I had to skip it. Silly me....we forgot to bring our camera to our 4th celebrations! Anyway day 2 is to create a LO with a sketch provided by Kristy Lee. It is a 2 photo sketch with a title, journaling block and flower embellishment. It was pretty easy to follow. I used some pictures from the Japanese Friendship Garden that were taken in December of 2007. I used Stampin' UP patterned paper and ribbon. I used some Making Memories flowers with a brad from the Sassafras B is for Boy collection. I cut out the journaling block and the flower stem with the cricut cartridge Accent Essentials. I cut out the title with the Hello Kitty Font cartridge. I was pretty happy with how this page turned out. I hope you like it!

Game Night Fun!
So I had a pretty busy day today and only had 30 minutes to spend in the craft room. Since I got the Card Games and Game Night stamps from Stampin' UP, I have been wanting to make some kind of place cards. We have friends over on a pretty regular basis to play games and I thought it would be fun to have some game-themed place cards. I cut some red cardstock in 3x7 pieces. Then I scored them in the middle. On the front I stamped the card pictures. Above that I stamped game night. On the sides I used the stamp with the heart, diamond, clover, and spade. I used some small letter stickers to put the names on. I am not too sure about the stickers. I think some small alpha stamps would probably look better. Hope you like it!

Mojo Mondays 145 Challenge
Ok I have another challenge card. This one is for Mojo Mondays. I used mostly Stampin' UP products. Here is my recipe:
From Stampin' UP:
Bermuda Bay cardstock, ink, and pp
Lovely Lilac cardstock and ink
Butterfly and saying stamp from Garden Whimsy
Flower stamp from Vintage Vogue
I used generic white cardstock to stamp on and for the background sheet that was embossed with a cuttlebug folder. I added some American Crafts ribbon and a little rhinestone to the center of the flower.
Happy 4th of July weekend to everyone!

Tuesday Morning Sketches Challenge
I am really having a lot of fun with all of these blog challenges. I have such a hard time trying to decide what I want to do when I make a card, so having a "challenge" helps spark the creativity. So here is a card I made for Tuesday Morning Sketches. Here is my recipe:
Stamps from Sassafras Quack Quack
pp from Basic Grey Offbeat
green pearlescent paper
brown and pink cardstock
Making Memories Paperie buttons from Greenhouse collection
American Craft ribbon
edger punch
I tried something different with the ribbon. I cut two small pieces to wrap around the big ribbon. I am not entirely sure I like it. I have a hard time getting ribbons tied properly. Let me know what you think.
I'd also like to say thanks to all of you who are "following" me. I reached double digits today! Yeah!
