I unexpectedly had some scrapping time today since my husband got invited golfing at the last minute! And Wednesdays mean there is a new Mid Week Mojo sketch! There were 2 options this week. I don't know if I'll have time to try the other one, but I really liked how this one looked. And after looking at a variety of papers, I decided that I needed to use the Black Currant again! Scrapbook Steals Mid Week Mojo #21

My husband went out this afternoon to do some Christmas shopping so I had 2 free hours to craft! I was able to do Scrapbook Steals Mid Week Mojo #21. This next set of 10 is going to be the Ruby Club! I have made it into the Diamond and Emerald club so far and hope to continue on into Ruby! I wasn't sure about this sketch at first. But I am quite pleased with the finished product! I used the DCWV Black Currant stack and I LOVE it! I searched for this stack for several months and finally got it on Black Friday! Now I want to get another so I don't run out!! It's so gorgeous! Winter Wonderland!

I am so excited to see that I am up to 60 followers! Thank you all for following me! December is so crazy. It's nice when I have time to squeeze in some crafty time. I am so impressed with those bloggers out there who are still posting every day! This is a quick card I made today using the cricut cartridge Doodlecharms. I used a cuttlebug folder on my card base. I ripped a piece of white cardstock to make the snowbank and then added Crystal Stickles. I added Black Diamond Stickles to the snowman's eyes. And I didn't want to cut the snowman layer out twice, so I used Stampin' UP's Only Orange ink to color in the carrot nose! The sentiment is from the Bright Christmas set. The snowflakes are from Christmas Punch. I used Brilliant Blue ink and my Boho Blossoms punch. Then I added some I-rock gems. Thanks for stopping by!

Here is a quick card I made for my Stampin' UP class the other night. The challenge was to make a card using only neutral colors. I started with a Soft Suede base. Then added Chocolate Chip dsp. The sentiment is from Thank You Kindly and stamped with Close to Cocoa ink. The buttons are from Making Memories Paperie Mocha collection. I used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches #70 and the inspiration photo from Off the Wall Craftiness #36.



And since it was my month for our hostess club, I brought some snacks. My husband made chocolate mint angel food cupcakes with buttercream frosting. And I made cupcake wrappers using my Easter cricut cartridge and Pink By Design's Rock On stamps. I think they turned out really cute. Thanks for stopping by!

Scrapbook Steals Mid Week Mojo #19

It's Mid Week Mojo #19 this week at Scrapbook Steals. One more to go and then it's Emerald Club!!! I loved the sketch this week. This week was designed by a Scrapbook Steals fan! She actually did 2 different sketches. So I am hoping to get to the other one if I have time! I used a couple of my favorite wedding pictures. The papers are from the Making Memories Paperie Rouge collection. I used my new Sew Easy to stitch on the black cardstock. I used the Burst stitch piercer. It was really easy once I got the hang of it! And I used my new Celebrate with Flourish cricut cartridge to cut out the title and the heart. Thanks Mom! Hey bloggy buddies! It's the last day of November and I have no idea where the month went! And I think December will go by even faster. I am going to have to squeeze in crafty time where I can! I had my canasta game today and didn't want to miss it since I will be missing both my December games. Although, I did not have good luck today. We play in groups of 4 and rotate partners for 3 rounds. I was in the losing partnership each hand! I think I was bad luck today! Anyway, I made it home in time to whip up a card before my husband gets home! All of my supplies are Stampin' UP except the script cuttlebug folder. The ribbon is chocolate chip. The stamp sets are Four Square and Eastern Blooms. I used Only Orange and Ruby Red ink. And I completed my registration yesterday and am officially a Stampin' UP demonstrator! Creative Scraps #4

I really wanted to enter the Creative Scraps challenge this week. It is to use the Life is a Beach cartridge and the colors blue, black, and one of your choice. Life is a Beach is one of my favorites! So I whipped this up pretty quick last night. I used Stampin' UP's Blushing Bride cardstock for the base and flamingo. The pp is from Making Memories 5th Avenue collection. The "Enjoy the Journey" tag and buttons are also from Making Memories. Scrapbook Steals Mid Week Mojo #18

It's week 18 over at Scrapbook Steals Mid Week Mojo! Only 2 more weeks until the Emerald Club!! This weeks sketch was so easy. I loved this one! It came together so well. I am sure that I will use it again! I need to start saving these sketches in one place so that I can refer to them more easily. I used some pictures of my Dad and I before the ceremony. I had to use 3 different cricut cartridges to cut out the title! Father came from Heritage, The Bride from Sweethearts, and of was welded on my gypsy with Gypsy Font. Doing the shadow for of was a little bit difficult. And while I was messing with that, I discovered that I no longer have the hide contour button! Ugh... I had to do a full gypsy restore since the update for the downloads didn't work for me. That took a full 24 hours! And I thought it didn't work, but then magically the downloads appeared the next day. But now I can't use the hide contour! So frustrating!

Sketchy Thursday 11/11, PKS Let's Face it Friday 11/13

All day today I was thinking it was Tuesday, but sadly it is Wednesday. This week is flying by. I have a feeling the rest of the year is going to go really quickly! I am making great progress on my wedding album! This is a LO of the Father/Daughter dance. I used some music note paper that I have had for many, many years! The black polka dot paper is from Slice. The purple cardstock is Making Memories. I used Best Occasions metallic paper and Gypshy Font for the title. The music notes were from Gypsy Wanderings. I used a 3/8 inch Peachy Keen Everyday Character face. I had to do a close up so you could see the cute little face! Just don't look at my attempt at faux stitching. I am still perfecting that skill. Scrapbook Steals Mid Week Mojo #17, Wee Memories #31

I have been working on this LO since last Wednesday! My husband had a four day weekend so I haven't had much crafting time! This sketch worked really well for my bouquet toss photos! I had to flip the right page though. Everything is glued down except the girl on the right page. I can't decide if it looks ok. When I first found the cut, I thought, Oh that looks like a girl holding a bouquet. And then when I went to cut her, the cricut called her a french maid. I thought it was funny that I saw her duster as a bouquet. But now I see it as a duster. So what do you think? Does it look silly or does it fit with the photos? It's kind of hard to see but I first stickled the "duster" and then added a few gems to be flowers. Thanks for stopping by!

I made this card with the sketch from Scrapbook Steals Monday Card Madness #6. The inspiration colors are from Off the Wall Craftiness #32 and the birthday theme is Wee Memories #30. This is for my little cousin's upcoming 1st birthday! I thought this giraffe was so cute! He is from the New Arrival cricut cartridge. I used all Stampin' UP papers. The pp's are from the Certainly Celery and Haiku collections. The ribbon is American Crafts. I was glad I had googly eyes small enough because I think they are so cute! I added Crystal Stickles to the top of the one for a little sparkle! Oh and I pulled out my ancient Fiskars scissors to trim the edges of the papers! Thanks for stopping by!

Crop Chocolate Online Crop Challenges

Here is a quick recap of the challenges that I was able to complete for Crop Chocolates online crop. Challenge #1 was to use this ad as inspiration.


I have so many pictures from the wedding reception of people dancing. I thought this would be a good way to get a lot of pictures on one page. So this is the first of many dancing pages!



Challenge #3 was to make an easel card. This was my first easel card! I am not that happy with it. But I will have to try again at a later date. I used Basic Grey's Eskimo Kisses and BG Alpha stamps.



Challenge #2 was in 2 parts. First we were given a menu with 3 courses and an optional dessert. Each item was assigned a certain element that needed to be present in our layout. We had to pick our meal without knowing what each element was though! My meal was a cheeseburger (purple!), cheese sticks (star), garden salad (bling), and of course I chose dessert, triple chocolate cake (rub ons)! This was my favorite challenge! It was fun not knowing what we were going to get! The paper is all Stampin' UP. I used Star Dust and Eucalyptus stickles and the rub on is from the Basic Grey Two Scoops collection.






Challenge #7 was to incorporate weaving in your project. I decided to make an anniversary card for my husband. I have never done paper weaving before either. It was a lot more difficult than I thought it was going to be! But I think it turned out all right. I used Basic Grey's Sugar Rush collection for the papers and brad. I embossed the card base with a cuttlebug folder and then inked it. The birds are from the Joys of the Season cricut cartridge.

Cutting the Cake!

I did this LO with a few pictures from my wedding of the "Cutting of the Cake." We had a cupcake cake for our wedding, but still had a small cake at the top for us to cut for the pictures! I am still trying to figure out the best place to take my pictures, so I am not sure how well you can see the cupcake picture. I cut the cupcake picture in the shape of a cupcake with the Hello Kitty Greetings cartridge. This was the first time I cut a photo with my cricut and it worked really well! Thanks for stopping by!

Merry Christmas!

Well now that it is November, I am starting think about Christmas cards. Although, this will most likely be a Christmas "thank you" card. I used a lot of NEW things today. Well, new to me! I started with a kraft base which I have never done before! I really wanted to use my new Peachy Keen Stamps, so I decided on this cute little gingerbread man from the Stretch Your Imagination cartridge. He is cut at 3 1/2 inches and the face I used was the 3/4 inch from Everyday Character assortment. Then I used my white gel pen for the first time to color in the whites of the eyes. I don't think I did a very good job with that, but it was my first time! I had a hard time getting the gel pen to work right at first. I also did some faux stitching for the first time! I think that looks better since by that time I had scribbled all over a blank sheet of paper. I used my Stampin' UP Rose Red marker to color in the mouth. His buttons are from the Making Memories Paperie Mocha collection. The pp is from the Basic Grey Figgy Pudding collection. I embossed the red sheet with a cuttlebug folder and punched the green sheet with my SU scallop border punch. I also used versamark to stamp the sentiment from Delightful Decorations with some Martha Stewart gold embossing powder and LOVE how it came out! The ribbon is American Crafts. I added an odd angle shot to show the dimension. I really need to figure out a good photo spot in my house! Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Bird-day!

Here is a birthday card I made today. As I am typing this, I realized I could have used a "happy bird-day" sentiment. Oh well... I started with Stampin' UP's Baja Breeze as a base. The pp is from Pink Pirouette. The pink ric rac is from American Crafts. I cut out the bird from the Songbird cricut cartridge. I added a gem with my i-rock for the eye. I added crystal stickles to the leaves. I think it's funny that they look green. I wasn't expecting that! I used AC's Blush brads in the Prima flowers. 4 is the magic number!

This is my last challenge for the Scrapbook Steals online crop. 4 is the magic number: you must include 4 – Patterned Paper, 4 – Brads, 4 – Stickers or Rubons, and 4 – Ribbons, and anything else in groups of 4. I used 4 photos and a 4 word title. The title came from the Storybook cricut cartridge. This took me forever to cut out! I finally changed my blade and it cut out fairly well. It hasn't even been that long since I changed the blade! But I seemed to have lots of problems with this last blade. So hopefully this new blade is better! I used the Basic Grey Wisteria collection for the pp, cardstock stickers, and brads. The ribbon is from the American Crafts Boutique noir collection.
